War of Spices- A Culinary Competition on 24th February 2014

Rawal Institute of Management under the flagship of Rawal Institutions is organizing War of Spices with great enthusiasm. The focus is on providing a common platform to budding chefs from various Technical/Professional Hospitality Educational Institutions across Delhi-NCR, wherein they can showcase their culinary sensibilities and creativity to the experts from the Hospitality Industry.

The competition will be a motivational event for students of Hospitality and a platform wherein the Educationist and Industry professionals can exchange their experiences. We have dignitaries from various fields, Experts from Hospitality Industry, Media personnel from Print and Electronic media as part of this grand competition. Participants from different Hospitality Institutions will be participating in this mega event. We request you to kindly send a team of students to represent your Institute and make this contest a gala success.

For us this mail is a curtain raiser and an opportunity to invite participation of your students to the War of Spices scheduled on 24th February 2014.

Brief Introduction: The Participant will be given an open pool of ingredients from which they can pick their own choice of ingredient. The Participants will be required to prepare an Appetizer, a Main course and a Dessert. They will be allotted 10 minutes to write down the indent and standard recipe of their dish.

General Guidelines/Basic Rules for the participants:

  • Participants will be required to prepare 2 portions of the food items only.
  • The Issuing, Cooking and Presentation time is included in the stipulated time.
  • Basic rules for plate presentation should be strictly adhered.
  • The judgement parameters will be Taste, Texture, Eye Appeal, Ingredient usage. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
  • Participant will have to carry their own uniforms along with the chef kit and props for preparation and presentation.
  • Participants must wear their Institute’s Identity Cards during the competition.
  • All the participating teams are requested to leave their work area clean after the preparation is over.
  • Though the organizers will take reasonable care, they will not be responsible for any theft/loss/damages to the tools and equipments and other belongings of the participants.

  • Timings of the Event: 11AM – 1PM
  • All the teams that are participating in the event should reach the venue 30 minutes before the start of the competition to avoid last minute inconvenience.
  • Each team will have 2 participants.
  • Maximum 3 teams can participate from one Institute.
  • Lunch for the Participants and Faculty members shall be provided.
